EV Link Up 2025 Hosts 100 Electric Vehicles
On Saturday, September 6, Evergo, the island’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network, hosted the fourth staging of Jamaica’s largest electric vehicle meet-up, EV Link Up, at Mona Hockey Field in recognition of World EV Day, which is observed annually on September 9.
The day began with an EV convoy from Evergo HQ on Marcus Garvey Drive, which travelled through Downtown Kingston, Cross Roads, Half Way Tree, and Liguanea before arriving at the venue. Turning heads along the way, pedestrians and motorists were treated to a variety of models, including the JUTC Yutong electric bus, Toyota BZ4X, Audi E-tron, Mercedes E-Sprinter, Volkswagen ID.4, RD6, Teslas, and several BYD models. The convoy set the tone for a memorable day of community and connection.

Once at Mona Hockey Field, the event brought together over 100 electric vehicles spanning 20 brands and over 40 models. In fact, the parking lot itself became a highlight, even before entering the venue. It was transformed into an electric-only zone buzzing with excitement. The display underscored the strength and diversity of Jamaica’s growing EV community.
Evergo President and CEO, Dr Wayne McKenzie, OD, said “Events like EV Link Up show the real momentum behind Jamaica’s move to electric mobility. Seeing drivers, dealers and curious members of the public come together confirms that this transition is practical and within reach. Evergo will keep expanding charging access, sharing knowledge and working with partners so more Jamaicans can benefit from cleaner, smarter transport.”

EV Link Up is more than just a meet-up. For Evergo, it is a vital platform to unite drivers, enthusiasts, and industry players while demonstrating how far the country has come in its transition to clean transportation. It sparks new interest in the EV curious, showing Jamaicans that electric mobility is accessible, practical, and an important part of the nation’s sustainable future.
This year’s staging was made possible with the support of valued sponsors and partners. ATL Automotive showcased an impressive range including BYD, Porsche, MINI, BMW, Kia, MG, and Audi. China Wheels featured BYD, Li Auto, Xiaomi, and Jetour, while Flash Motors Radar and Farizon models as well as the Evoke Urban S electric motorcycle. JPS Charge ‘N Go also participated, highlighting their EV charging network.

Guests also had the opportunity to tour the electric JUTC bus and learn more about its features, while Scotiabank and National Commercial Bank shared financing solutions to make EV ownership easier. Other partners included 7Krave, Clashing Innovations, Zip 103FM, Generative Consultancy, Red Bull, Sun Plus, Saddle Energy and PepsiCo, who all helped to create a well-rounded experience.
The event atmosphere extended beyond the vehicles with a dedicated kid’s zone for children, and activities such as dominoes, ludo, and connect four. Music by DJ Nova and lively hosting by Jade kept the energy high throughout the day, creating a fun and engaging vibe.
EV Link Up 2025 truly celebrated the future of mobility with community, innovation and excitement. Patrons can look forward to the next staging on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
