Evergo Jamaica Leads Environmental Charge with Beach Cleanup, Tree Planting
At Evergo Jamaica, we are committed to creating a cleaner, greener future—not just through our electric vehicle charging infrastructure but also by engaging in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship. Recently, we united our employees, partners, and volunteers to undertake two significant efforts: a beach cleanup at Fort Rocky in Kingston and a tree-planting initiative at Tarrant High School.
Restoring Our Coastline: Beach Cleanup at Fort Rocky
Once a naval base, Fort Rocky was the site of our recent beach cleanup. Over 50 Evergo volunteers worked together to collect more than 1,000 pounds of plastic waste and other debris. This initiative revitalized the area’s natural beauty and underscored the urgent need for waste reduction and coastal protection.
Restoring Our Roots: National Tree Planting 2024
In collaboration with the National Forestry Department, Evergo planted over 150 trees at Tarrant High School as part of our reforestation efforts to enhance air quality and environmental health. The species planted included yellow poui, pride of Barbados, ackee, Otaheite apple, and poor man’s orchid. These trees will help reduce carbon emissions, enhance the school’s aesthetic, provide fruit, and contribute to a healthier environment for future generations.
At Evergo, we recognize that environmental protection goes hand in hand with innovation. As we expand the largest network of EV charging stations across the Caribbean and Latin America, our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our products and services. Evergo proudly works to preserve Jamaica’s natural beauty for future generations by offering clean transportation alternatives and leading impactful environmental initiatives.
Through these activities, we aim to inspire communities, partners, and stakeholders to embrace a sustainable future. Together, we can drive positive change—one charge, one cleanup, and one tree at a time.
